Vind AI partnerships

We believe that developing transformative digital tools for the wind industry requires continuous collaboration between wind developers, technology providers, and data and analysis experts. At Vind AI, we have worked closely with developers since day one to develop our platform, and we’re proud to have a growing number of partnerships with data providers around the world.

Vind AI partners

Alongside our 6000+ integrated data layers, we are collaborating with specialist data providers, offering their data directly through the Vind AI platform.
DTU (the Technical University of Denmark) (WAsP)
About:
Founded in 1829, DTU is one of Denmark’s foremost institutions of higher learning, and it is recognised internationally as an elite technical university. DTU Wind and Energy Systems’s WAsP Team field of work is mainly modeling of wind flow over terrain for wind resource assessment and site assessment for wind turbines and wind farms, as well as implementation of research and innovation in software developments.
The Vind AI-DTU partnership:
Through our partnership, DTU’s WAsP high resolution predictions of a wind park's wind climate are made available in the Vind AI platform. WAsP’s model takes both terrain and landcover into account. By integrating WAsP predicted wind data, Vind AI users can more easily access precise yield calculations in areas with big terrain variations. Learn how to use WAsP predicted wind data within Vind AI’s digital platform by watching our webinar with DTU on demand here. https://www.vind.ai/event/wasp-in-practice

Whiffle
About:
Whiffle B.V. was founded in 2015, starting as a spin out of the Dutch Delft University of Technology. With its roots in science, the company continues to use cutting edge R&D to further develop Large Eddy Simulation (LES) models and its unique implementation on high performance computing systems. This resulted in the world’s first Large Eddy Simulation (LES) based operational weather model that produces highly accurate and ultra high-resolution weather forecasts. Application areas of Whiffle’s model include short-term wind and solar power forecasting, wind resource assessments and wind energy yield modelling.
The Vind AI-Whiffle Partnership:
Through our partnership, Whiffle’s high-resolution weather simulations are made available directly in Vind AI. This allows wind developers to easily integrate hyper-local, forward-looking wind data in their design processes instead of relying on past data when planning future wind projects. The partnership makes advanced wind data available from day one, disrupting the traditional model where detailed wind data inputs surface only late in a project’s life.
