From fragmented workflows to a unified development platform

Cube Green Energy is a Berlin-headquartered independent power producer specialising in dual-use land solutions, developing and operating onshore wind farms, agri-PV projects, and battery storage across Germany, France, and Poland.

With a strong focus on repowering and a digital ecosystem already in place, the team came to Vind AI looking to solve a specific problem: too many tools, too little visibility, and a workflow that depended on constant handoffs between teams.

The problem

Before the trial, the development process was built around a familiar but friction-heavy sequence. GIS files came from the GIS team. Layouts moved into WindPro for energy yield analysis. Numbers were passed to project managers for financial modelling. Each step happened in a different tool, owned by a different person, with limited transparency across the process. And when numbers lived in spreadsheets passed between teams, errors happened, costing time to track down and fix.

As Henri Avila, Vice President Technical at Cube Green Energy, put it:

"We were spending a huge amount of time just moving data between tools. Getting a layout from GIS, running it through WindPro, passing numbers to the PM for the financial model — it was all very fragmented. We had no single place where everyone could see the same picture."

The solution

The trial focused on whether Vind AI could consolidate that workflow meaningfully and on benchmarking the platform's capabilities against their existing toolset. The results were clear.

"After starting with Vind AI, we could see pretty quickly that 90% of our workflow could be done inside the tool. We gained a more detailed budget, reduced variability in results, and better cross-team collaboration. That changes how we think about the tool; it's not just faster, it's a better way of working."
Henri Avila, Vice President, Technical at Cube Green Energy

Today, 12 people across Cube Green Energy use Vind AI, spanning technical, finance, and project development teams. The finance team runs numbers directly in the platform rather than relying on spreadsheets and outdated data passed down from other functions. The branch system has become a go-to for visualisations, and the map and print functionality is used regularly for presentations and documentation. What was previously a process prone to information loss at every handoff now produces cleaner, more consistent outputs.

The platform is used across Cube Green Energy's full asset scope — wind, solar, and battery storage. The goal is straightforward: shorten the development cycle without sacrificing quality. In one recent case, the team credited Vind AI directly with their ability to deliver a project offer on time:

"If we didn't have Vind AI, we wouldn't have been able to create the offer in time. That says a lot about where the tool sits in our workflow now."
Henri Avila, Vice President Technical of Cube Green Energy

For a developer managing complex repowering projects across multiple markets, that shift matters. When the entire team works from the same data in real time, decisions get made faster and with more confidence and less gets lost along the way.

Cube Green Energy became a Vind AI customer in June 2026.
