Discover what's new in the platform

This month, we are focusing on precision and realism—both in how you manage your data and how you visualise your projects. From a complete overhaul of our curtailment workflow to making our 3D scenes more true-to-life, these updates are designed to make your planning process more robust and professional.

Visual Analysis: Realistic tree modelling and canopy logic

Trees are a critical feature of any landscape, impacting both the visual aesthetic and how shadows are interpreted.

Instead of trying to place thousands of individual trees manually, we use a raster dataset that describes tree canopy height.

  • Accurate heights: For every pixel with a canopy height above 5m, we place a tree of the corresponding height.
  • Natural placement: To avoid a "grid-like" appearance from the underlying data, we apply a random offset of 0–5m in any direction.

This ensures that your View Park and Shadow analyses visualise general forested areas with high precision, giving you a realistic representation of the landscape.

Photomontage: panorama, maps, and metadata

We have introduced several highly requested features to help you create presentation-ready visualisations:

  • Panorama support: Panorama images behave very differently from standard photos, which previously made alignment difficult. You can now toggle on Panorama mode to ensure perfect alignment across the entire wide-angle view, essential for high-quality prints.
  • Professional layouts: By popular demand, you can now add a small inset map in the corner and include custom metadata at the bottom of your montages.
  • Restore settings: You can now restore old settings for an image you have already worked on, making it easy to maintain exact consistency across different park scenarios.

Curtailment revamp: The unified table

We’ve centralised curtailment management into a new, dedicated Curtailments table. By bringing standard loss rules and complex noise matrices into a single interface, it is now much easier to maintain a "source of truth" for your operational planning.

Key benefits:

  • Unified overview: Manage all rules, from simple power limits to noise-based curtailment, now in one place.
  • Reduced complexity: Get a clear, park-wide summary of how different strategies interact.
  • Better alignment: Easily find the optimal balance between maximum production and regulatory compliance.

Wind data: Flexible wind data upload

We have released a more flexible way to upload wind measurement data, moving beyond a few fixed formats to a "best effort" parsing approach. The platform now intelligently interprets the content of your files, making it much easier to integrate site-specific measurements.

  • Auto-parsing: For recognised providers, Vind AI will automatically parse the data for you.
  • Manual configuration: For other file types, we have made it simple to configure the data yourself by mapping columns for location, timestamps, and sensor heights directly in the platform.

Broader support: This update includes improved support for .sta (Lidar) and .csv files, ensuring your data is ready for analysis with fewer manual workarounds.
