Access built-in wind data—for anywhere in the world

The Vind AI platform comes with several existing wind data sources. It enables you to quickly get started with assessing the energy potential of any site around the world. Datasets include ERA5, CERRA, NORA3, Global Wind Atlas and the New European Wind Atlas. You can also create a custom WAsP file for your site. 

To make your yield analysis even easier, we have built in recommendations for which dataset is most relevant for your specific project site, based on the site’s characteristics.


Add custom wind data

You can of course also upload your own wind data, either long-term time series, measurement data or wind resource grid files. You may combine several time series in the same analysis, or use inputs generated by external providers of specialist wind data—you can for example create your own wind data grid with WAsP’s predicated climate data within Vind AI. The platform supports long term correction of measurement data.


Assess bankable yield

Our accurate and comprehensive yield analysis takes only seconds to run, while accounting for internal wake, wake effects from neighbouring wind farms, and blockage effects.

As part of the yield analysis function, you can calculate losses, curtailments and uncertainties in the yearly energy generation. The platform can show you a detailed breakdown of losses, as well as extensive information about the uncertainties in the energy generation, including P90. Assess curtailments due to different conditions based on weather conditions, wind conditions, or time/day. Understand the expected yield losses due to curtailments, and inspect how curtailments vary across different scenarios.

Customise your inputs

Easily import your turbine-specific data, choose between several wake- and blockage models, and tune their inputs. Add any custom losses to the analysis, and adjust the turbulence intensity, air density and other parameters.

In addition to showcasing results to your internal and external stakeholders directly in Vind AI, you can create custom, shareable reports that summarise all available statistics and data for each layout, neatly presented in tables or graphically. All results are available for download in recognised formats for further processing.
